  • 01 / Class Schedule & Information

    Regular Sessions:

    • Days: Tuesdays and Wednesdays
    • Time: 9:00am-5:00pm
    • Duration: 7 weeks
    • Clinical Dates: To be announced (typically 4 days in length)

    Upcoming Evening Courses:

    • Days: Likely Tuesdays and Wednesdays

  • 02 / Age & Education

    • Minimum 18 years old
    • High School graduate or GED equivalent
  • 03 / Language & Skills

    • Proficient in English (reading, writing, communication)
    • Must be able to read and write
    • Basic math skills
    • Screening assessment required for all students
  • 04 / Legal & Identification

    • No criminal records, arrests, or assaults
    • Valid photo ID or Driver’s License
  • 05 / Medical & Health

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) course completion (before final exam or within the first 2 weeks of the course)
    • 2-step TB Clearance or Chest x-ray (current within 1 year)
    • Completed physical examination form
    • Current year's flu shot
    • COVID-19 Compliance (one of the following): Full vaccination, Two weeks post first vaccine dose, PCR testing before in-facility portion

    • Non-refundable pre-registration fee (reserves your seat)

    Payment plans, scholarships and tuition lending by financial institutions to those who qualify.

  • 07 / Additional Requirements

    To be obtained 2 weeks before clinical rotation:


    • Drug Test results
    • Proof of health insurance (before clinical site rotations)

    Immunizations:

    • TDP (tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis) - within past 10 years
    • Hepatitis B series (3 shots)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (chickenpox) - Doctor’s note or Antibody test (MMR/Varicella)
    • TITERS test if records are lost

    Note: Insurance applications available for those who qualify financially

  • 08 / Dress Code

    • Scrubs (any color for class), for clinical rotation, must wear blue top.
    • Closed-toe shoes.
    • Must wear a facial mask at all times during clinical rotations.

Course Breakdown

Skills Lab

Dive into a plethora of educational tools, mastering the art of assisting patients with diverse health needs. This hands-on training equips you for both your vocational portfolio and your budding career in healthcare.

PART 1: THEORY & Lab (90 hours)

Classroom Training: This foundational phase covers all aspects of patient care and nursing skills through lectures, visuals, lab demonstrations, homework assignments, mock tests, and active student participation.

PART 2: CLINICAL PRACTICUM (30 hours)

4-Day Clinical Training: Engage directly with residents in healthcare facilities, supervised by state-licensed Nurse Assistant Training Instructors.


Real-World Experience: Collaborate with aides, nurses, and other medical professionals, gaining firsthand experience of a nurse assistant's role in long-term care settings.

March-May 2024 Hybrid Class Schedule

Class schedules have been temporarily paused as we prepare for an office relocation caused by leasing complications.

  • Orientation: Tuesday, March 12th at 5:30 pm in the classroom.
  • Class Sessions: Tuesday to Thursday, 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm via Zoom.
  • Sundays: 11:00 am - 3:00 pm for in-person clinical hours.
  • Clinical Sessions: Four 8-hour days, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, with dates to be announced.

Certified Nurse Aide Examination via Prometric

The Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) collaborates with Prometric to oversee the Nurse Aide Competency Exam and manage the Nurse Aide (NA) Registry. This partnership ensures that you're receiving a certification recognized and respected across the state.
